In December 2015, Singapore Thomson-East Coast Line T206 North Bound project launched successfully. The Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) is a joint line between the Thomson Line and the Eastern Region Line. The 43km TEL will add 31 new stations to the existing rail network, with 7 interchange stations, which will link to the East-West Line, North-South Line, North-East Line, Circle Line and the Downtown Line. Commuters can start enjoying the TEL in stages from 2019.

During the advance process of the tunnel, the guidance systems will provide valuable data to enable the TBM to follow the planned alignment and ultimately drive to a successful breakthrough. In this project, VMT TUnIS laser guidance system has been used in conjunction with the Ring Sequencing Module, TUnIS Office and IRIS system. VMT China also provides technical backup and advice on the jobsite. The technical service provided consists of Alignment calculations, TBM measurement, installation on the jobsite, calibration of TUnIS and training.
